The Productivity Hack That Boosted My GPA from 2.6 to 3.89😲
I tried, tested and failed multiple times so you don't have to.
👋 Hey this is Shreyash🙋🏽♂️ and welcome to a subscriber-only edition of my weekly newsletter. Each week I share my experiences about productivity systems and how I save hours every week to do things that I love.
I know what you are thinking. “This is another one of those tips and tricks copied from Wikipedia”
You couldn’t be more wrong.
Freshman year of college I started with a 2.6 GPA out of 4 GPA. Not a strong start huh?
By my Junior Year semester, I had reached a 3.89 GPA.
How did I do it?
You wanna know the secret???
Productivity Systems🪄
It’s a buzzword these days I know.
It seems like a lot when I first started but give me a chance to explain.
A Calendar app.
Yes, that is where I started.
I downloaded ‘Microsoft Outlook’.
It was a no-brainer because that is what my university uses.
I opened the app and added all of my classes and the things I wanted to achieve on the calendar.
Here is what it looked like
I added the time, name, and location of every class.
I kept that updated no matter what.
Every night before going to bed I would look at my calendar and have a general idea of what was going on tomorrow.
“But Shreyash this seems like a lot of work!!!”
Let’s see…
1 min to download the Outlook app
5 minutes to log into my university and personal emails.
15 minutes adding all my classes and any other events for the semester.
21 minutes and I was ready to attack the semester.
This is a no brainer for everyone who has multiple places to be and things to achieve on a daily basis.
Once you know what you got going on the next day, you can plan all of your fun activities
Going out with friends
Watching Netflix
Sitting around and doing absolutely nothing. (hey I’m not judging)
One thing I would suggest: Don’t put ‘Watching TV at 4 PM’ in your calendar.
Leisure activities should stay out of it so you do not overwhelm yourself.
Trust me I have done that it’s not fun.
“To succeed at most things in life, all you need to do is show up.”
Next week we will talk about How I completed over +1,000 tasks successfully without missing any.
